I live within sight of where I grew up, at Manquin, VA, about one-half hour east of Richmond VA, on US Rt. 360. Raised as a country boy I was free to roam the farm by the time I was 9. These are a few of my observations on the world.

- I'm 71, born & raised on the same farm I grew up on. After college(NCSU,) I dairy farmed for 13 yrs., sold our herd and went into real estate. Traveled all over VA selling land, cattle, equipment, etc., at auction. These articles appear sometimes in our local paper, The Country Courier. I was a Democrat while in grammar school, a Republican until recently, have always voted as an independent, and now consider the present political parties just one step above "Animal House" and out of touch with most of the people who count. My main readings are the WSJ, Richmond Times Dispatch, local papers, and some fiction & nonfiction. Had a life changing experience when I fell out of a tree in '03, so you might read anything here. I've also posted an interesting article about one of my experiences with a few wine bottles several years ago...the adventure made The Richmond Times Dispatch. Thank you for visiting WGT
